Successful Living Center, An intergenerational approach to adult & child daycare

Successful Living Center, opening in early 2008, is an intergenerational facility that will provide day care services to children with and without disabilities and to the elderly with Alzheimer’s.

Goals of Successful Living Center’s Child Care program include:

  • To stimulate and enhance the cognitive, language, gross motor, and communication skills of children with and without disabilities.
  • To promote an environment of compassion and acceptance between children with and without disabilities.
  • To foster an environment where children with and without disabilities learn to play and grow together.
  • To strengthen the family by fostering healthy development of children and offering a respite for primary caregivers.

The Center will serve children ages 4 months to 5 years both typically developing and those with developmental delays in the areas of cognitive, gross motor, social/emotional and language. Children admitted into the child care program will have scheduled interaction with participants in the adult day care program.

The Center will follow DHR regulations regarding child to caregiver ratios and all other facility requirements.
